Small Animal Physiotherapy 

Charlotte Wood Dip.APhysio, Cert HSA, RCH, IAAT  is the in-house Physiotherapist at House of Hydro.

Animal physiotherapy focuses on enhancing the mobility, function and overall well-being of your pet through various combinations of techniques. Our aim is for your pet to feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible.

Physiotherapy can help to rehabilitate many conditions including: -Arthritis -Hip and elbow dysplasia -Cruciate injuries -Luxating patella’s -Neurological conditions such as IVDD -Pain management -Pre or post-surgery -Musculoskeletal tension -Mobility changes -Compensatory patterns -Injury recovering such as ligaments and tendon -Cardiovascular and strengthening -Conditioning of muscles

A physiotherapy session may include the following treatment:

Manual-based techniques such as massage (effleurage, petrissage etc), mobilisation and stretching.

Therapeutic exercises with the additional use of equipment such as blocks, wobble cushions and poles. 

​

The use of electrotherapies such as Pulse Electro Magnetic Field Therapy (PEMF). 

Home lifestyle and exercise programmes given for the individual patient relevant to their condition and progress.
